Many 'standard' designs utilise self-regulating cables. These cables incorporate a conductive polymer core that increases its electrical resistance with temperature, which means that as the temperature increases, the power output decreases.
This has the benefit of making the cables 'fail-safe', which is reflected in the fact that such cables are approved for use in hazardous areas including T6 areas that are limited to 85°C.
It also means that stabilised designs can be utilised, eliminating the requirement for temperature controllers.
